Teleology in biology

Teleology in biology is the idea that life has a purpose or a goal to reach. It's like when you set a goal for yourself, like getting a good grade in school or saving up enough money to buy something special. In teleology, living things have a built-in "goal" that they naturally try to reach. This can mean that they grow, reproduce, and evolve over time to reach a final, perfect state. In other words, they move towards a definite purpose. In nature, this purpose is often centered around survival, protecting the species, and passing on genes to the next generation.
