Temperate broadleaf and mixed forest

Imagine you're walking through a big forest with trees all around you. Some of these forests are called temperate broadleaf and mixed forests.

Temperate means it's not too hot or too cold - just right, like Goldilocks found her porridge. Broadleaf means the leaves on the trees are big and flat, not like needles. And mixed means that different types of trees all grow together in the same forest.

These special forests have lots of different types of trees like oaks, maples, beeches, and birches. They all grow together and share the same space. Sometimes it's like they're having a party!

These forests have lots of animals that live there too, like deer, bears, and squirrels. There are also smaller animals like birds, lizards, and bugs.

In the fall, the trees in these forests change colors and look very pretty. The leaves on the trees will turn red, yellow, and orange. It's like the trees are wearing their best clothes to show off!

So, a temperate broadleaf and mixed forest is a big forest with lots of different types of trees and animals that live there. It's not too hot or cold, and in the fall it looks very pretty with all the different colored leaves.
