Alright kiddo, so a long time ago in India, there was a practice called "untouchability". This meant that people from certain lower castes (groups of people based on their birth) were not allowed to enter temples (places of worship) or even touch things that belonged to people from higher castes.
This was really unfair and made a lot of people upset. Some people who believed in equality for everyone started protesting against this and demanding that everyone should be allowed to enter temples.
Then, in 1927, the ruler of the state of Travancore (now part of Kerala), Maharaja Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, listened to these protests and decided to issue something called a "temple entry proclamation".
This proclamation basically said that all people, no matter what their caste or religion, should be allowed to enter temples and worship alongside everyone else. This was a really big deal and helped to change the unfair practice of "untouchability" in India.
Today, we are all equal and everyone can go to the temple if they want to. That's all there is to it!
