Termination of Employment Convention, 1982

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a job at a store. Sometimes, your boss might need to make you stop working there for different reasons. This is called termination of employment.

The Termination of Employment Convention of 1982 is a set of rules that countries agreed to follow when they terminate someone's job. It's like a set of instructions that everyone has to follow to be fair when ending someone's job.

The Convention says that when you end someone's job, you have to give them a good reason for it. For example, if someone did something wrong and against the rules, then they can be fired. But if someone is being fired just because the boss doesn't like them, that's not fair.

The Convention also says that when someone is fired, they have to be given notice in advance. This means that your boss has to tell you in advance that you won't have a job anymore. This gives you time to prepare and look for another job.

And finally, the Convention says that when you're fired, you have the right to get paid for the work you did before you were fired. This is important because it means that you still get paid for the hard work you did, even if you're not working there anymore.

So, the Termination of Employment Convention is like a set of rules that countries follow to make sure that everyone is treated fairly when they lose their job.
