Terrible Towel

Have you ever heard of the Terrible Towel? It's a special towel that is used by fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team.

The story behind the Terrible Towel is pretty interesting. Way back in 1975, the Steelers were getting ready to play in the AFC Championship game, which is a really important game that would decide if they could go to the Super Bowl. A radio broadcaster named Myron Cope thought it would be really cool if the fans had something special to wave around to cheer the team on.

So Myron came up with the idea of the Terrible Towel. It's a yellow towel with black letters that say "Terrible Towel." Myron really loved the idea and he started promoting it on the radio. Soon, tons of fans were buying Terrible Towels and waving them around at games.

The Terrible Towel quickly became a symbol of the Steelers and their fans. It's even been called the "world's best known sports towel." The fans wave the towel around and yell and cheer really loudly, all to show their support for the team.

So, in short, the Terrible Towel is a special towel that football fans use to cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's a really cool tradition that started a long time ago and is still going strong today.
