Thai and Lao Braille

Braille is a system of writing letters and words using bumps on a piece of paper or plastic. People who are blind can use their fingers to feel the bumps and read the words.

Thai and Lao Braille are two specific types of Braille used in Thailand and Laos. These systems include their own symbols specific to their respective languages.

The bumps used in Thai Braille are arranged in two vertical lines with three bumps each. Different combinations of these bumps represent letters in the Thai alphabet. For example, a single bump on the top row represents the letter "ก," while a single bump on the bottom row represents the letter "ฉ."

Lao Braille also uses bumps to represent letters in the Lao alphabet, but they are arranged differently. The bumps are arranged in three rows with two bumps each. The left column of bumps represents consonants, while the right column represents vowels.

By using Thai and Lao Braille, people who are blind in Thailand and Laos are able to read and write in their own languages just like people who can see.
