Okay kiddo, so have you heard of the Bro Code? It's a set of rules that some guys follow to show loyalty to each other. They might promise to always have each other's backs, not date each other's exes, and other similar things.
Now, sometimes these rules can be harmless and just about being a good friend. But sometimes, they can be sexist or put down women. For example, some guys might trash-talk or objectify women in front of their buddies to show off or prove that they're "manly."
It's not just the Bro Code, though. In our society, a lot of things can influence men to think that being sexist is okay or even cool. Movies, music, and TV shows often portray women as objects to be won or as less important than men. Boys might grow up hearing jokes or comments that put down women or make fun of them.
All of these things contribute to a culture where sexism is seen as normal. And that can be really harmful. It can make it harder for women to be taken seriously, to feel safe, or to advance in their careers. It can also make it harder for men to form healthy relationships with women or to see them as equals.
But just because it's part of our culture doesn't mean it's okay. We can all work to be more aware of how our actions and words might affect others. And we can all try to stand up against sexism and make sure that everyone gets the respect they deserve.
