ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

The Freecycle Network

Do you know what recycling means? It's when we take things that we don't need anymore, and instead of throwing them away, we try to find a new use for them so that they don't go to waste.

The Freecycle Network is kind of like recycling, but instead of just throwing something away or trying to find a new use for it ourselves, we give it away to someone else who might need it.

So let's say you have a toy that you've outgrown and you don't want anymore. Instead of just throwing it in the trash, you can put it on the Freecycle Network and tell other people that you have a toy that you're giving away for free.

Someone else who's looking for a toy might see your post and say, "Hey, I'd love to have that toy!" Then you can get in touch with them and give them the toy, and they can enjoy playing with it.

The Freecycle Network isn't just for toys, though. You can give away all kinds of things on there, like clothes, furniture, books, and even appliances. It's a great way to help reduce the amount of things that go to waste and to give something to someone who can really use it.
