The Giving Pledge is a promise made by some of the richest people in the world to give away at least half of their wealth to charity. These people, called “pledgers”, promise to give away their money to make the world a better place. The Giving Pledge was started by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett, who thought that if some of the world’s wealthiest people donated to charity then it could have a huge impact on helping those in need. Currently, more than 200 billionaires have joined the Giving Pledge and have promised to give away their money to causes they care about.
