ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

The Right to Be Greedy

Okay kiddo, so being greedy means wanting more and more of something for ourselves, even if it means other people don't have enough.

Now, some people believe that everyone should be allowed to be as greedy as they want because it's their right. They think that if someone works hard and earns a lot of money, they should be allowed to keep it all for themselves and not have to share with others.

But others believe that being too greedy can be harmful to society. They think that when one person has too much, it can make it harder for others to have enough. They think that everyone should have a fair chance to have what they need, and that people who have more should share with those who have less.

So some people say that yes, we do have the right to be greedy, but we also have the responsibility to think about how our actions affect others and not be so greedy that we hurt them.
