Imagine you have three friends named Mary. They're all really important people and they have stories that are told in the Bible.
The first Mary is Mary, the mother of Jesus. She was a really special lady because she gave birth to Jesus even though she was still a virgin. That means she didn't have a husband and Jesus was a gift from God. Mary had a really big role in Jesus' life and she helped him grow up to be a kind and thoughtful person who always put other people first.
The second Mary is Mary Magdalene. She was one of Jesus' best friends and she followed him around everywhere. She was really loyal to Jesus even when he was being treated badly by other people. Mary Magdalene saw Jesus after he rose from the dead, which means she was one of the first people to know he was alive again.
The third Mary is Mary of Bethany. She was also a good friend of Jesus and she loved him a lot. Mary of Bethany showed Jesus how much she cared about him by doing something really special. She poured expensive perfume on Jesus' feet and washed them with her hair. Jesus was really touched by what she did and he said that she would always be remembered for it.
So those are the three Marys! Mary, the mother of Jesus; Mary Magdalene, Jesus' loyal friend; and Mary of Bethany, who showed Jesus how much she cared for him. They're all really important people who had special connections to Jesus and their stories are still told today.
