Theophrastus

Theophrastus was a really smart guy who lived a long time ago. He was born over 2,300 years ago in Greece! That's very, very, very old!

Theophrastus was interested in lots of things, but he especially loved studying plants. He was so good at it that he became known as the "father of botany".

As a botanist, Theophrastus wanted to understand how plants grow, how they make seeds, and how they're different from each other. He spent many years studying and writing about hundreds of different kinds of plants.

Theophrastus wrote many books about plants and his work was so important that people still study it today. He taught other people about plants so they could learn too. He even had a special school where he taught people about plants and other things!

Theophrastus was really curious and always had questions about how things worked. He was a very important scientist and is still remembered today for his work on plants.
