Theosis (Eastern Orthodox theology)

Theosis is an Eastern Orthodox theological term that means "becoming divine". It is the belief that followers of Jesus can become spiritually united with Him and attain a special relationship with God. This is because, according to the teachings of Eastern Orthodoxy, God became human for us, and by becoming one with Him, we too can become divine in a way.
