Thermal pad (PCB)

A thermal pad is like a blanket that you put on a very hot object to keep it from getting too hot. In a PCB, which is like a really cool Lego set for grown-ups, there are some parts that can get really hot. To keep these parts from getting too hot and melting or breaking, we put these special blankets called thermal pads on them. Thermal pads are made of a special material that conducts heat away from the hot part and spreads it out over a larger area. This keeps the hot part from getting too hot and helps it work better for a longer time. It's like wearing a hat when it's cold outside so your head stays warm!
