ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Thingyan

Thingyan is a big holiday in Myanmar, which is like a big water festival! It lasts for four days and is usually held in April. During this time, people splash water on each other, dance, and have fun in the streets. They also visit monasteries and offer food to Buddhist monks. Thingyan is meant to show respect for the elders and to cleanse the body and soul before the start of the Buddhist New Year. It is a time to let go of the old and welcome the new year with a fresh start. So, it's like an awesome water party where everyone celebrates!
