Thoth

Thoth is an ancient Egyptian God. He was the God of knowledge and wisdom and is credited with inventing writing and creating books. Thoth is often depicted as a man with the head of an ibis (a long-beaked bird) and is usually seen carrying a writing palette and a pen. Thoth is also sometimes seen with wings on his back, representing his ability to fly around the world gathering knowledge. He is also sometimes seen with a moon on his head, which symbolizes his ability to see truth. Thoth is an important part of Egyptian mythology and was worshiped in many places throughout the country.
