A thoughtform is like a pretend friend that you create in your head. You know how when you play pretend with your toys, you give them personalities and names? Well, imagine doing that, but with your thoughts.
Sometimes, people create thoughtforms on purpose. This is called intentional thoughtform creation. In meditation, people can focus their thoughts on a specific image or idea, and that can turn into a thoughtform. It's kind of like creating a mental puppet show.
Other times, thoughtforms can be created unintentionally. For example, if you constantly think about a certain worry or fear, you might create a thoughtform that embodies that worry or fear.
It's important to know that thoughtforms aren't real in the same way that people are real. They exist only in your mind. However, some people believe that thoughtforms can still have an impact on your mental and emotional state.
If you have created a thoughtform that you don't want to keep around, there are ways to release it. You can visualize it dissolving, or you can ask another person to help you release it. It's kind of like saying goodbye to a pretend friend when you no longer want to play with them.
