Three Hours' Agony

Have you ever been really, really bored or uncomfortable for a long time? Maybe you had to sit through a long movie, or wait at the doctor's office for a while. Well, imagine feeling like that for three whole hours! That's what people mean when they say "three hours' agony."

Maybe you've also heard people talk about the "agony of defeat." That's when someone really wants to win at something, but they end up losing instead. It can feel really bad and make them very sad.

So when people say "three hours' agony," they mean a time when they were very uncomfortable or very sad for a really long time. It can be hard to get through, but sometimes we learn valuable lessons from going through tough times.
