Threshold limit value

This TLV is determined by scientists who study how much of a substance is okay for humans to be exposed to over a certain amount of time. They consider things like how toxic the substance is, how long people will be around it, and how much they might breathe in or touch.

So just like how you can only have a small slice of cake at a time to stay healthy, there is a certain amount of a substance that you can be around that won't make you sick. That's the threshold limit value! It helps keep us safe by letting us know how much of something we can be around without getting hurt.
