Thymic stromal lymphopoietin

Thymic stromal lymphopoietin, also known as TSLP, is a special chemical that our bodies make to help fight off germ invaders like viruses and bacteria. It's made by special cells in our lungs and skin called epithelial cells.

Think of TSLP like a superhero that alerts our immune system when there's danger. When epithelial cells detect an invader, they release TSLP, which then travels to immune cells like T cells and dendritic cells. These cells then spring into action to fight off the invader.

TSLP is also involved in controlling inflammation, which is the body's reaction to injury or infection. It helps to keep inflammation from getting too severe, while still allowing the immune system to do its job.

So basically, TSLP is a special chemical that helps our immune system fight off bad germs and keep our body healthy!
