Tiang Seri

Tiang seri is known as lantern posts in Malaysia, which are tall poles made of bamboo or wood, designed to hold lanterns around the Malaysian festive season. These are used for decorative purposes, to add an atmosphere of festivity and joy to the event, and are often seen during the Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Imagine that you are throwing a party, and everyone is excited and happy to celebrate together with you! To make your party look more special and extraordinary, you might want to decorate your house with beautiful lights and colors. Similarly, during the festival, Malaysians decorate their streets and houses with lanterns to make the environment more lively and colorful.

Now, to make sure that these lanterns stay up all night and do not fall off, we need something durable and strong to hold them. Let's say, you use bamboo sticks for this purpose - your guests might bump into them, or the wind might blow them away, and that could ruin the whole party's ambiance.

Therefore, to prevent such situations, you can use tall poles made of bamboo or wood to hold these lanterns, and that's what we call tiang seri in Malaysia.

So, tiang seri is nothing but a strong and tall post that can hold beautiful lanterns securely, and is used to make the environment more vibrant and festive while celebrating special occasions in Malaysia.
