Tianxia

Tianxia is a Chinese term that means "all under heaven". It represents the idea that all people and things in the world are interconnected and belong to a single community, where there is a hierarchy of power and responsibility. Imagine you are in a big classroom with different students and teachers. Tianxia describes the idea that the teachers are in charge and have responsibility for the students, but also that the students have a responsibility to help each other out and make sure everyone is doing well. In China, this concept has been used to describe the relationship between the emperor and the people, between rulers and subjects or between parents and children, and it emphasizes the idea of mutual respect and responsibility among all members of a community. In simple terms, tianxia means that we are all part of a big family where we have to take care of each other and work together for the common good.
