ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tibetan script

Tibetan script is a way of writing that is used in Tibet and other parts of the Himalayan region. It looks very different from the way we write letters in English or other Western languages.

Each letter of the Tibetan alphabet looks like a little picture, called a character. These characters are written from left to right, just like English.

When a bunch of characters are written together, they have different shapes depending on which character comes before or after them. This is called "cursive script."

Tibetan script is used not only for writing in the Tibetan language, but also for writing in other Himalayan languages like Bhutanese and Ladakhi. It is also used for writing Buddhist scriptures and other religious texts.

Learning to read and write in Tibetan script can be very challenging, even for adults. But with practice and patience, anyone can master it!
