Tie pin

A tie pin is a small metal pin that is used to hold a man's tie (necktie) in place on his shirt. The pin has a small sharp point on one end that is pushed through both the shirt and the tie, trapping the tie in the middle. The other end of the pin typically has a small oval or circular clasp that goes over the tie, preventing it from slipping out of the small pinhole that was created. Tie pins are usually used with dressy clothing and can help make an outfit look more neat and professional.
