Timeline of Christianity

Christianity is a religion that people have been following for thousands of years. It started around 2000 years ago, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. After Jesus died and rose from the dead, his followers began to preach his message and more people started to follow him and believe in him.

The first Christians were the apostles of Jesus and the 12 disciples. They spread the word of Jesus throughout the Roman Empire, telling people about his teachings and miracles. This was the beginning of the Christian church.

In the year 325, Constantine became the ruler of the Roman Empire and he made Christianity the official religion of the empire. He also called a meeting of Church leaders called the Council of Nicaea in which they agreed on the official teachings of the church and established rules and beliefs that all Christians would follow.

During the Middle Ages, Christianity spread all over Europe and into other parts of the world. It was the major religion with many kings and rulers in Europe being Christian. Europe also built many beautiful churches and cathedrals during this time.

In the 1600s, the Protestant Reformation took place in Europe. This was led by Martin Luther who was a Catholic priest. This caused a split in the Church, with some following Luther's teachings and others following the official Church teachings.

In the modern era, Christianity is one of the biggest religions in the world. Christians are found everywhere in the world and there are many different types of Christianity, including Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, and Orthodox Christianity. Christianity is an important part of Western culture and has had a great impact on the world.
