ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Timeline of Morocco

Okay kiddo, let me explain the timeline of Morocco as simply as possible.

A long, long time ago, there were some people called the Berbers who lived in what is now Morocco. They were really good at farming and trading with other people.

Then, in the 7th century, some people called Arabs came to Morocco and brought a new religion called Islam with them. They were very powerful and influenced the culture and language of Morocco a lot.

Over the years, Morocco was ruled by different groups and empires, like the Almoravids, Almohads, and the Saadians. They built a lot of beautiful buildings and mosques that you can still see today.

In the 19th century, European countries like Spain and France started to take over parts of Morocco. They wanted control of Morocco's resources, like its ports and mines.

Morocco became independent in 1956 and has been working hard since then to grow its economy and be a strong country. Today, there are still many different cultures and languages in Morocco, and it's a really interesting and diverse place to visit.
