A long time ago, Rajasthan was covered in forests and there were many different tribes who lived there. They hunted and gathered food and lived in small groups.

Around 4000 years ago, the Indus Valley Civilization came to Rajasthan and brought new ideas and technologies with them. They built cities and cultivated crops.

Later on, many kingdoms rose and fell in Rajasthan. Some of the most famous ones were the Maurya Empire, the Gupta Empire, and the Mughal Empire. They built beautiful palaces and forts that still stand today.

In the 16th century, a new kingdom was established in Rajasthan called the Rajputs. They were fierce warriors and built many forts to protect their people from invaders. Some famous Rajput rulers were Rana Sanga, Rana Pratap, and Maharana Ranjit Singh.

During the British Raj, Rajasthan was a part of India. The Rajput kings and other rulers fought for independence and eventually, India became independent in 1947.
