Timeline of the Middle Ages
Okay, kiddo! The Middle Ages were a long time ago, hundreds and hundreds of years ago. They started after the fall of the Roman Empire and went all the way up until the beginning of what we call the Renaissance.
The Middle Ages were divided into three big parts called the Early Middle Ages, the High Middle Ages, and the Late Middle Ages. Each part had different things going on and different people in charge.
In the Early Middle Ages, there were lots of different kingdoms and people fighting for control. This was a really confusing time, and people weren't very organized. But eventually, powerful leaders started to emerge, and things started to become more stable.
In the High Middle Ages, things were much more organized. Kings and queens ruled over big countries, and they were very powerful. There were also big, fancy churches and lots of people who were learning and discovering new things. This was a time of big growth and change.
In the Late Middle Ages, things started to get a little bit rough again. There were wars and plagues that killed a lot of people. People were also starting to question the power of the Church, which had been really powerful for a long time.
