ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tirukkuṟaḷ

Tirukkural is a very big book that teaches us good ways to live and be kind to other people. It is written in a language called Tamil, which is spoken in a place called Tamil Nadu in India. The book is made up of 1330 small sentences called couplets that are grouped into three parts: the first part tells us how to live our lives, the second part tells us how to treat other people, and the third part tells us how to be successful in life.

Each couplet is like a jigsaw puzzle piece that fits with other pieces to create a bigger picture, like a map that shows us how to live our lives with kindness and wisdom. The book was written a long time ago by a wise man called Thiruvalluvar, and even though it's very old, it still teaches us important lessons that we can use in our lives today.
