Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara

Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara is a very big and special temple in Sri Lanka where people go to pray and show respect to their gods. It is a place where the Buddha, a wise man who taught people how to be kind and good, is honored and remembered.

The temple is very old, like when your great-great-great-great-great-grandparents were alive, and it was built by a king named Kavantissa. The king built the temple to show that he was a good and kind ruler and he wanted to make sure his people had a special place to go to pray.

Even though the temple is very old, it is still very important to the people who live nearby. People come to the temple to meditate, or close their eyes and think about good things. Others come to the temple to give offerings, or presents, to the Buddha and other gods. Some people even come to the temple to learn about the teachings of the Buddha.

Overall, the Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara is a special and sacred place where people go to connect with their religion and show gratitude to their gods.
