Tobin Tax is a tax that is put on certain kinds of money transfers that go from one country to another. It is named after the economist James Tobin who suggested it. When people move money to other countries, they often have to pay a special fee, or tax, before they can do it. This tax helps the governments of the countries stop people from moving too much money out of their countries, and helps keep money in the country so it can be used to help the people who live there.
