Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

The tomb of the unknown soldier is a very special place where people go to remember soldiers who died in wars but whose names and identities are unknown. The tomb is a big, beautiful building made out of white marble and it's located in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, USA.

Inside the tomb, there is a tombstone, which is a very fancy stone with writing on it that tells us that it is the resting place of an unknown soldier. This tombstone is guarded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by special soldiers called the "Old Guard." These soldiers are very special and they are picked from the best and bravest soldiers in the United States Army.

The guarding of the tomb is a very important job because it's a way to show respect for those who died fighting for their country. The Old Guard soldiers have to be very strict in their job and they have to follow very special rules. They have to wear their best uniform, they can't move, talk or even blink while they are standing guard. They have to be completely still and silent, even if it's raining or snowing or if they have to stand guard in the middle of the night.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a very special symbol of sacrifice, bravery, and patriotism. People from all over the world come to visit and pay their respects to those who lost their lives fighting for their country. It's a reminder that we should never forget the sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom and that we should always honor and respect our military heroes.
