Tomviz is a computer program that helps scientists see the inside of things better. It uses something called tomography, which is like taking a picture of the inside of something by shooting tiny beams of light (or other forms of energy) inside the object and then measuring how the light bounces around inside. Tomviz helps scientists measure the light that bounces around right after it enters the object, and then show this data as maps of colors. Scientists use these maps to learn more about the inside of things, like how solid or tough something is.
