Topic and comment

Okay, so imagine you are playing with your toys and you have a favorite one. This favorite toy is special to you and you want to tell your friend about it. Your favorite toy is the topic and what you say about it is the comment.

So, the topic is what we are talking about or writing about. For example, in a story, the topic might be a princess going on an adventure or a bear who loves to eat. In a conversation with your friends, the topic might be about your favorite game or something funny that happened at school.

Then, the comment is what we say about the topic. This is where we share our ideas, thoughts, opinions, or facts about the topic. For instance, if the topic is your favorite toy, the comment might be "I love playing with my doll because she has pretty hair and we have tea parties together."

So, whenever we talk or write about something, we need to have a topic (what we are talking about) and a comment (what we want to say about it). This helps us to understand what someone is saying or writing about and makes conversations and stories more interesting and fun!
