Torphichen Preceptory
Torphichen Preceptory is a really old building in Scotland where a group of people called the Knights Hospitaller used to live a long, long time ago. The Knights Hospitaller were like helpers who would take care of people who were sick or hurt. They were also very good at fighting and keeping people safe.
The building they lived in was very big and important because it was where they would learn how to be good helpers and fighters. It had lots of rooms for them to sleep in and lots of big halls where they would eat together.
Even though the Knights Hospitaller were very good at helping people, over time their job changed and they didn't need the building as much anymore. So, the building slowly started to get old and some parts fell down.
But, luckily, people who loved history realized how important the building was and they started to fix it up so that it would be good as new again. Now, lots of people can visit Torphichen Preceptory and see what it was like to be a Knight Hospitaller a long time ago!
