Tortillon

Okay kiddo, have you ever drawn with a pencil and tried to make a really dark area? Sometimes the pencil can make the area too dark, and the lines may look too dark and harsh.

That's where a tortillon can come in handy! A tortillon is basically a rolled up piece of paper that you use to blend the pencil lines together. Think of it like a magic wand: when you use it on your drawing, it helps to soften the harsh lines and make everything look smoother and more blended.

You can use a tortillon for lots of different types of art, like sketching, shading, and even coloring. The best part is, you can make your own tortillon at home by rolling up a piece of paper into a tight cone shape!

Just remember, using a tortillon can take some practice, just like any other art technique. But once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to make some really cool drawings and paintings!
