ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Traceability

Traceability is like wearing a name tag at a big party. Just like how you have your name written on your tag, things that we eat, wear, and play with, also have tags and labels that tell us where they came from and who made them.

These tags help us trace back the path of the things we use in our daily life, like the food we eat or the toys we play with. For example, if we see a tag on a banana that says it was grown in Ecuador, we know where the banana came from and can trace its journey from the farm where it was grown to our local store.

Similarly, in other industries, like manufacturing, cars, or electronics, items have tags or codes on them that allow us to trace their path from where they were made and who made them. This helps companies ensure that they have made their products as per the agreed-upon standards, and any issues or problems that come up can be quickly identified and resolved.

In short, traceability helps us keep track of where things come from and how they reached us, making it easier to identify any problems and ensuring that everything is safe and up to standard.
