Traffic police

Traffic police are people who patrol the roads to make sure that everyone follows the rules of driving. They often sit in the middle of the road in their cars or wave people to stop from the side of the road. They check to make sure that drivers have their license and that their cars are in good condition. They also look to make sure that drivers are obeying the speed limit, not running red lights and not driving while drinking alcohol. By making sure that everyone follows the rules, traffic police help to keep the roads safe for everyone to use.
