Trans-Saharan slave trade

During the trans-saharan slave trade, African people were taken from their homes and sold as slaves to people living in other places. Slavery was like a really bad job where people didn't get paid and were treated very poorly. People from African countries were captured by other people and taken very far away, usually through the Sahara desert, to other countries where they were forced to be slaves and do hard work like picking cotton, working on farms, and cleaning houses.
