ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Transformative learning

Transformative learning is when a person learns something new that changes the way they think and act. It’s like when you learn something really cool, and it makes you see things completely differently. For example, when you first learn that plants make their own food, you realize that they are just as important as animals.

Transformative learning can happen in different ways. Sometimes you might learn something new and it completely changes the way you think about yourself or the world around you. Other times, you might have a new experience that challenges your beliefs and makes you reevaluate what you thought was true.

It’s kind of like building a puzzle. You start with one piece, and then you add more and more pieces until you have a complete picture. When you learn something transformative, it’s like adding a whole new puzzle piece that you never knew existed before. And sometimes, that one piece can change the whole picture.

So, transformative learning is when you learn something new that changes your perspective and helps you grow and learn more about yourself and the world around you. It can be pretty amazing when it happens!
