Okay kiddo, let's talk about the Transit of Vulcan. You know how we have planets like Earth and Mars that orbit around the sun? Well, a long time ago, people thought there might be another planet called Vulcan that orbited even closer to the sun than Mercury.
Now, just like when the moon passes in front of the sun during a solar eclipse, sometimes the planets can pass in front of the sun too! This is called a transit. So people thought that if Vulcan existed, we might be able to see it pass in front of the sun during its orbit.
But here's the thing – turns out Vulcan doesn't actually exist! Scientists figured out that the weird wobbles in Mercury's orbit that people thought were caused by Vulcan were actually caused by the gravitational pull of the other planets. So even though we won't ever see a Transit of Vulcan, we can still learn a lot from studying the orbits of the planets in our solar system. Cool, huh?
