The Treaty of Sèvres was a peace treaty made after World War I between the Allies (which was made up of countries like France, the United Kingdom and the United States) and the Ottoman Empire (which was a group of countries in the Middle East). The treaty said that the Ottoman Empire had to give up some of its lands and that they would become independent countries. It also said that some of the lands would become part of other countries in Europe. The Treaty of Sèvres also marked the end of the Ottoman Empire and the start of new Middle Eastern countries like Turkey and Iraq.
