Treenailed boat

Okay kiddo, imagine a big boat made out of wood. But instead of being held together with screws or nails like we use today, it's held together with wooden pegs called treenails. It's kind of like playing with building blocks and making sure they fit together perfectly without any glue or tape. The treenails are hammered into holes that are drilled into the planks of the boat, so that when they expand (like when they get wet), they hold the planks together tightly. This kind of boat was really popular a long time ago when people didn't have machines to make screws or nails, and it was important for boats to have strong and flexible joints that could handle the waves and wind on the ocean.
