ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Triangular dipyramid

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a pyramid, which is a shape that has a pointy top and a wide bottom. And now imagine taking two of these pyramids and putting them together so they share their base. The resulting shape would be a triangular dipyramid!

This shape has two triangular faces on the top and bottom, and three rectangular faces on the sides. It kind of looks like a diamond or a kite, but with a pointy top and bottom.

Triangular dipyramids can be found in nature, like the crystal structure of boron carbide, or they can be man-made, like in some architectural designs or as a shape for a party decoration.

Does that make sense, little one? Do you have any more questions?
