Triple bolus test

Okay kiddo, so you know how when you eat food, your body has to use a special hormone called insulin to help turn the food into energy?

Well, sometimes doctors need to check how well your body is making insulin. They do this with something called the triple bolus test!

First, they give you a little shot of insulin to make sure your blood sugar level is normal. Then, they give you a big dose of sugar to see how your body makes insulin to control all that extra sugar.

After that, you wait for a little while and they give you another shot of insulin to see how your body is doing at bringing your blood sugar back down to normal.

Finally, they test your blood sugar levels over the next few hours to see how your body is doing at keeping your blood sugar levels stable.

So basically, the triple bolus test helps the doctor see how well your body is making and using insulin to keep you healthy!
