ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Trusty system (prison)

Okay kiddo, so a trusty system is a way to have good prisoners help the guards and other staff at the prison. It's kind of like being a helper or an assistant to the grown-ups in charge.

Usually, the trusty system is for prisoners who have been well-behaved and have shown that they can be trusted. These prisoners might get some special privileges, like getting to leave their cell more often or being able to help out with jobs around the prison.

The idea is that if these prisoners are given a chance to help out and be responsible, they might be more likely to behave well and not cause trouble. This can make the prison a safer and better place for everyone.

So, just like how you might get to be the leader of a game with your friends because you've been behaving well, some prisoners get to be "leaders" in the prison because they've been good. And that's the trusty system, in a nutshell!
