Tu quoque defense

Tu quoque defense is when someone tries to defend themselves by pointing out that the person accusing them is guilty of the same thing.

It's like when your little brother tells your parents that you took the last cookie, but you tell them that he did it too yesterday. You are using a tu quoque defense to try and make it seem like what you did wasn't so bad because your brother did it too.

This kind of defense is not very strong because it doesn't actually prove that you didn't do something wrong. Just because someone else did it too doesn't mean it was okay for you to do it as well. It's important to take responsibility for our own actions instead of trying to shift the blame onto someone else.
