Tunisian navy (1705–1881)

The Tunisian navy was a group of boats that belonged to the country of Tunisia a long time ago, from the year 1705 to 1881. Tunisia is a place in Africa that is near the Mediterranean Sea. The navy was made up of different kinds of boats, some were big and some were small, but they were all used to help protect the country and its people from enemies who might try to attack them from the sea.

People who sailed on the boats were called sailors or sometimes they were called pirates. Pirates were people who would sail on boats and take things from other boats that didn't belong to them. However, the Tunisian navy was not made up of pirates because they only stayed close to their own country’s waters and didn't try to steal things from other boats.

The sailors who worked on the Tunisian navy boats had to work very hard. They would wake up early in the morning and work all day, even when it was very hot outside. They would scrub the decks of the boats, raise the sails, and steer the boat to make sure it went in the right direction. They also had to watch out for other boats that might be coming to attack them.

The Tunisian navy was important because it helped protect the people in Tunisia from other countries who might try to attack them. It also helped to make sure that the waters near Tunisia were safe for boats that belonged to Tunisians and other people who wanted to trade with the country.

In 1881, the Tunisian navy stopped being used because the country became a protectorate of France. A protectorate meant that France would protect Tunisia from other countries who wanted to attack it. So, the Tunisian navy was no longer needed because France would protect the country instead.
