Have you ever seen a really big animal with a long trunk? That animal is called an elephant. Now, baby elephants are called calves, but when they grow up they become bigger and stronger. When a male elephant grows up and becomes an adult, he is called a bull, and a female elephant is called a cow.
Now, when a female elephant gives birth to a baby elephant, it is called a tyke. Just like you were a baby and grew up to become a big kid, a tyke grows up to become a big elephant too.
But did you know that elephants are very important animals in nature? They help keep the ecosystem balanced by eating lots of plants and trees, which helps other animals and plants grow too. They also use their trunks to clean up the environment by picking up and throwing away trash.
Tykes are adorable and fun to observe, but it's important to remember that elephants, including tykes, should be respected and protected in their natural habitats.
