Type design

Type design is like making a custom font. It's when you design all of the letters, numbers and symbols that make up a written language so they look a certain way. Basically, it's how all of the symbols that we use to write down words look. By designing the symbols, you can make them look different – more modern, more classic, more fun and so on. So, rather than just seeing the same basic font on every website, book and letter you look at, you get to see a lot more variety and creativity once type design is involved.
